Emma & Josh’s Mini-Session | Januik/Novelty Hill Winery

We met Emma & Josh a few years ago through the Seattle PUG Photography Group that we lead for local wedding & portrait photographers. Upon learning of our shared passion for food & wine, we attended the Passport to Woodinville together and a friendship was forged. So, when it was time for them to have photos taken for their new wedding website, they asked Gerald & I if we were up for the job! We had a pretty small window to shoot their photos, so it was a probably the fastest mini-session we have ever shot! Nevertheless, we got some really cute photos of these two out at Januik/Novelty Hill Winery (one of our favorite spots for weddings and wine). :) Enjoy!

Melanie and Nathan | Seattle Wedding at The Ruins

Melanie and Nathan’s wedding was held at one of our favorite Seattle venues, The Ruins. If you’ve never seen The Ruins, you’re missing out–it’s a beautiful venue, with all kinds of unique and interesting quirks that make it feel both eccentric and elegant all at the same time. We loved so many elements of their wedding–from Melanie’s non-traditional wedding gown, to the choruses of the St. James Schola during their candlelit ceremony, to the candelabras on their gorgeously decorated reception tables, and their delicious wedding cheesecake. However, I think our favorite part of the wedding was probably the toasts. Through the barrage of funny stories and embarrassing photos, you could see that the community of friends and family that came to celebrate with Melanie and Nathan truly love them, support them, and are incredibly happy for them. What more can anyone ask for?

Amanda & Petter’s Seattle Engagement Session

Amanda & Petter came all the way from Sweden (after getting delayed by all of the crazy winter weather in London) to have their engagement photos taken here in Seattle. Although they met while studying at North Park University in Chicago, their love eventually led Amanda to leave the United States and head all the way to Sweden to study, and of course, to be closer to Petter. Now they’re planning a beautiful wedding in the seaside village of Kivik, Sweden and thought that it was only appropriate to commission us to photograph their engagement session in Amanda’s hometown of Seattle.

It was a cold, beautiful December afternoon, so we decided to start with a little “fika” (Swedish for “a little coffee break”) at OddFellows Cafe on Capitol Hill before heading out to brave the cold at Pike Place Market and the Seattle waterfront. Our goal with their session was to not only capture the warmth of their love, but also to capture some moments that give a glimpse into what makes them a fun, fashionable Swedish-American couple. We hope you enjoy the collection of images we’ve put together.
